NEW Russian Space Station in 2025! Russia Withdrawing from the ISS?

Soviet Union was the first nation to launch it's own space station (Salyut 1 in 1971). For many years Soviet and Russian space stations were literally the only ones operating on Earth's orbit. But after the deorbiting of Mir station in 2001 Russia had to share ISS with many different countries. Seems like these days are over as Roscosmos and Russian government announced their potential withdrawal from the ISS project and their commitment to launch a new Russian Orbital Station. Let's see what we know about it.

Russia's space agency Roscosmos announced that it hopes to launch its own orbital station in 2025. Moscow also considers withdrawing from the International Space Station programme to go it alone. Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin said two fist modules of a new station are already created, after officials warned that Russia was considering pulling out of the ISS. Launched in 1998 and involving Russia, the United States, Canada, Japan, and the European Space Agency, the ISS is one of the most ambitious international collaborations in human history. For many years Russia had a near-monopoly for manned flights to the ISS, but lost it last year after the first successful mission of US company Space X. Russian space program is really struggling in recent years due to financial issues so let's find out if Russia is even able to build a new space station on its own.

Hey there. Somehow you found my video and decided to watch it. So let me introduce myself. I'm Sergei and I'm from Russia. My channel is about my native country. I want to tell English-speaking viewers about the real Russia, about its past and present. Unfortunately, you can find a lot of propaganda about Russia on the Internet, both from the Russian media and from the Western ones. I want to tell you about Russia, as it really is, the country in which I was born, grew up, and lived all my life.
